600 feet above the River Tyne, looking over Hexham to the North Tyne Valley and yet only a mile from the old town centre, Loughbrow House stands in 9 acres of garden, producing flowers and vegetables all year round.

The house, which dates from 1780, is comfortably furnished with antiques, retaining its essential 18th century character, but, at the same time it has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The large drawing room has a decorative moulded ceiling and magnificent marble chimney piece.

Loughbrow is adjacent to the Hadrian's Roman Wall: you are free to walk the home farm, woods and countryside to enjoy the breath taking views. Northumberland National Park, the Lake District, Durham, and many National Trust heritage properties are all within easy driving distance.
There are also 3 golf courses nearby.

  

Guest rooms, facilities and the garden:
The 5 guest bedrooms, 2 singles, 1 double and 2 twin bedded rooms, are large, simply but comfortably furnished with magnificent views from their windows. The double and one of the twin rooms have en-suite bathrooms, the two singles share a bathroom and the other double has a private bathroom.

The gardens with terraced water features, rose garden, herbaceous borders and an extensive kitchen garden and under glass are very special: so special that they are opened to the public in support of charity. Much of the fruit is grown for Loughbrow's jam making enterprise.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Meals and other facilities:
If you are travelling as a party of 4 or more, you must eat at least one evening meal with your host: she is a cordon bleu cook and employs fresh home produced vegetables, fruit and game in her creations. Vegetarian and other dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice.
Secure parking off road - garage on request.

Other details and house rules:
Children over 7 years old welcome - there is a small canal running through the grounds so children must be supervised.
Arrivals between 5 and 7 p.m. please or at other times by prior arrangement.

Open: All Year except for occasional holiday breaks.
